Benefits To Exercise

What are the benefits to exercise? There are numerous! For some people the reason - because it's fun - will not suffice, so let's take a look at the physical and mental benefits of exercise.

First of all to get the MOST benefit from your exercise it is important to exercise FREQUENTLY. Doing 10 minutes of jogging will not have much effect at all. Doing sessions of 30 minutes 4 times a week will! And don't forget that variation is very important as well to keep you interested in actually doing the exercises.

If you get bored after 1 session is is unlikely you will be able to muster enough motivation to start on the next one. I can tell you from my own experience that doing different exercises each day will keep some level of excitement going. The exercising will come easier, and you will benefit more in the end.

The obvious major physical benefit for many people is the burning of fat. People who are overweight and want to do something about it can be very dedicated. But the initial few weeks are the hardest. They might see no result at all and feel let down by the work they put into the exercising. You MUST be patient. Results will come eventually, and you'll thank yourself for persevering. There are thousands of products both online and offline that promise virtually instant results. Most people realize that that is unrealistic, and it is. For good benefits you will need to dedicate some time. Running burns a lot of calories, and those who sustain a good exercise program will see major benefits from it.

A lower cholesterol level, and lower blood pressure are two other great benefits of exercising. Scientific studies have shown that keeping your body in a healthy state can drastically decrease heart disease and diabetes. It will also minimize the chance of a stroke, among other things. Many people in this busy era of work, work and work, complain of trouble getting to sleep. Exercise will have a positive effect on your ability to get a good night of rest. Your body demands rest after a good amount of exercise!

The benefits to exercise don't stop there. Sport and exercise are also excellent for getting rid of, or reducing, stress. After activities that stress your body, your brain releases endorphins which are basically chemicals that make you feel better! Yoga is perhaps the most well known way of relaxing your mind, and for many people this is the best way of exercising.

I think it is quite clear what exercising can do for your brain and body. It's hard to get started, but the pay off is just too great to ignore.
